A short ride that is crowded at peak times

The airport is about thirteen kilometres from Villefranche. The route crosses Nice, passes the harbour and climbs onto the Basse Corniche to the edge of the bay. Off-peak it takes between a quarter of an hour and twenty-five minutes. In the evening, or when several cruise ships are in at Nice and off Villefranche, the road gets busy; the chauffeur adjusts the schedule to your arrival and the traffic.

For the opposite direction, Villefranche to the airport, give us your departure terminal and we work out the pickup time with the check-in margin you prefer.

Cruise calls: Quai Courbet and the tenders

Cruise ships cannot dock at Villefranche: they anchor in the bay and passengers come ashore by tender, usually at Quai Courbet. If you fly in to embark, the chauffeur takes you to the tender boarding point and helps with your luggage. If you are disembarking, allow for the tender crossing before setting the pickup time.

For wider cruise transfers, in particular from Nice or Cannes, see our page dedicated to port and cruise transfers.

The Citadel, Rue Obscure and the Saint-Pierre chapel

The old town of Villefranche is a tangle of narrow lanes beneath the Saint-Elme citadel, with the famous covered Rue Obscure and the Saint-Pierre chapel decorated by Jean Cocteau near the little fishing harbour. Cars cannot enter most of those lanes. The chauffeur drops you at the nearest entrance with your suitcases and knows the best access for each seafront hotel.

Villefranche is also a good base for exploring: Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Beaulieu, Èze and Monaco are a few minutes away, and a single chauffeur can link them over a day.
