Getting around Nice: districts, access and traffic
The Promenade des Anglais runs along the bay, but the heart of the city is a puzzle of pedestrian streets and one-way systems: Old Nice, the Cours Saleya, Place Masséna, Castle Hill, Port Lympia. Higher up, Cimiez and its museums look down on the city, while the business district is gathered around Nice Méridia and the station. A chauffeur who knows these access points knows where to stop so that you walk as little as possible.
Parking is the real headache in the centre: regulated zones, underground car parks full in summer. With a chauffeur the question disappears, and you can link a lunch at the harbour, a visit to Cimiez and dinner in Old Nice without ever collecting a car.
